This disclosure explains the main risks of using REMPIC through our website, web app or mobile apps. It applies to personal and business customers. The digital asset section applies only if you use a feature involving digital assets. Read this disclosure alongside our Terms and Conditions and the information shown before you confirm a transaction.
1Transfer delays and availability
Delivery times are estimates unless we expressly state otherwise. Cut-off times, holidays, incomplete details, checks, network outages and delays at banks or payout providers can affect when funds arrive. A payment may be held for review, rejected or returned. We may ask for documents or further information before we can proceed.
Check your transaction status before submitting the same payment again. If a transfer is delayed or the recipient has not received it, contact us with the transaction reference.
2Exchange rates fees and the amount received
Before confirming, check the exchange rate, fees, delivery currency and expected recipient amount. A quote may expire. If the applicable rate is not locked, or a quote expires before you accept it, the rate may change. Depending on the route, an intermediary or the recipient’s provider may apply its own charges or conversion, which can reduce the amount received.
If a payment is returned, the final amount credited may differ from the amount originally sent where a new conversion or permitted charges apply. Our Terms and Conditions and applicable law govern refunds and corrections.
3Incorrect details and payment scams
Check the recipient’s name, account details and payment instructions. If someone tells you their payment details have changed, confirm the change using a contact method you already trust. Do not share passwords or one-time security codes, and do not send money on the instructions of someone impersonating REMPIC.
Contact us immediately if you make a mistake, suspect fraud or see a payment you did not authorise. Whether we can stop or recall a payment depends on its status and the receiving provider. A completed payment may be impossible to recover.
4Digital assets and stablecoins
Where available, digital asset features may involve sending, receiving, converting or holding supported assets in connection with payments. Stablecoins aim to track a reference value, such as the US dollar, but can lose that link. Their market price, liquidity and ability to be redeemed can change. An issuer, custodian or network disruption may delay or prevent access, conversion or transfer. A stablecoin that tracks the US dollar can also change in value against your local currency.
Before sending assets, check the asset, blockchain network, recipient address and any required memo or tag. Sending on the wrong network or to the wrong address can lead to permanent loss. Confirmed blockchain transfers generally cannot be reversed. Network congestion and outages may delay settlement or increase network fees.
If you use a wallet or custody feature, outages, security incidents or failures at a provider may interrupt access or cause loss. Check the terms for the service before transferring assets to it. Our digital asset features are for payments where available; we do not provide investment advice.
5Safeguarding and regulatory status
Rem International Payments Inc. is registered with FINTRAC as a Canadian money services business and with the Bank of Canada as a payment service provider under the Retail Payment Activities Act. Registration is not a guarantee of any payment or balance.
Where we hold end-user funds subject to the Act’s safeguarding requirements, we safeguard those funds as required. See our Safeguarding Practices disclosure for the arrangements that apply to your service. Safeguarding is distinct from deposit insurance. Do not assume that digital assets, including stablecoins, are covered by the same arrangements as fiat funds or by deposit insurance.
6Help and complaints
Use the official support channel in your account or email support@rempic.com. Include the transaction reference and what happened. Do not send passwords or security codes. You may ask us how to escalate an unresolved complaint. This disclosure does not limit any rights or remedies you have under applicable law.
